3-31-10 Poem:

I would stare off into the clear blue sky,
But I don’t see you there and I don’t want to cry.
So, I just close my eyes.
I shut out the sounds,
The people laughing and the world spinning ‘round.
I wake at night, my pillow wet,
But I just can’t seem to forget.
I don’t regret a minute,
For a minute with you is like a shooting star ready to hit.
We stand in the rain,
Watching it fall,
Treasuring the second we have to be each other’s all in all.
Then, it’s over, and I watch you walk away,
Leaving me alone to find my way.
In my dreams, I see you.
I see our hopes and aspirations coming true,
But I’m still left without you.
I was so sure you were the one for me,
But God has so much more for me to be.
You walked the path with me a ways,
You held my hand,
Told me you’d stay.
Little did we know,
We still needed to grow.
To this very day, I’m still so thankful you were there,
And I know now that you were an answer to my prayer.
God tells us there’s a reason for all things under the sun,
You were my rock, given to me when I had come undone.
I want you to know that you’re still in my heart,
You touched my soul from the very start.,
And kept me from falling apart.
Sounds cliché, but I hope your happy.
I know that God has so much in store for you,
Just believe and he’ll come through.
It took me awhile to see that he’s right here beside you and me.
Whether we’re together or apart,
He always will be.
That, my dear, is what gets me through each day,
I hope you know that he’s with you along the way,
And He, my Savior, my Jesus, is truly here to stay.
